Description

The Robley Rex VA Medical Center- has a requirement for a contractor to provide software support services from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012 for highly specialized gGastro (Gastroenterology), also known as GMED Endoscopy utilized in patient care treatment. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541511; the Small Business size standard is $25M. GMED software support services is being procured for the hospital service that treats patients with upper and lower Gastrointestinal problems. Its salient qualities are pre-configured Gastroenterology diagnosis, orders and billing codes; gastroenterology-specific physical exam and review of systems; electronic links to pertinent laboratories for pathology and clinical tests results, patient questionnaires with Gastroenterolgy-related history, symptoms and medications, problem forms, specific to Gastroenterology, like Hepatitis C, Remicade Infusion, Dyspepsia and many other unavailable in competing applications; intelligent billing and coding rules specific to Gastroenterology. The Robley Rex VA Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with GMED Inc. The Government believes that GMED Inc is the only authorized provider for this service. This is a sole source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1), pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. Any firm that can fulfill this requirement should provide written notification to the Contract Officer no later than 12:00Noon E.S.T. by August 8, 2011. Supporting evidence must be presented in sufficient detail. Submit statement of capability and supporting evidence to Roxie Ann Keese via email at Roxie.Keese@va.gov. No telephone requests will be honored. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA will proceed with the sole source negotiations to GMED Inc.
