- Description
- The AEWS long range radar (AN/FPS-117(V)1/4) Essential Parts Replacement Program (EPRP) contract is to replace four main sub-assemblies on the system: the radar data processing cabinets, the platform electronics cabinet, the IFF beacon electronics, and the maintenance control systems (MCS). The EPRP acquisition provides for a basic contract effort of twenty nine (29) radar and beacon modification kits and five (5) MCS modification kits. The following assemblies will be replaced at each radar location: In the Tower Equipment Room: Preprocessor (11A1 cabinet) Moving target indicator processor (11A2 cabinet) Power supplies (11A3 cabinet) Doppler processor (11A4 cabinet) Radar data processor (11A5 cabinet) In the Antenna Platform Electronics (PE) cabinet: Frequency generator/Exciter Logic bucket Radio Frequency (RF) circuit boards Wiring, cabling, interconnections Power supplies / Voltage regulators as recommended IFF beacon electronics All radar system interconnecting cables Digital Electronic Corporation (DEC) Alpha workstation and associated printer All networking/communications hardware Modification or replacement of Tower Equipment Room (TER) Environmental Control System The following will be replaced at each (MCS) center: All system workstationsServers Printers All networking/communications hardware The 29 radar and beacon modification kits and 5 MCS kits will be installed at the following locations: 1 radar and beacon kit plus 1 MCS kit: Hill AFB, UT 15 radar and beacon kits plus 1 MCS kit: various locations in Alaska 11 radar and beacon kits plus 1 MCS kit: various locations in Canada 1 radar and beacon kit plus 1 MCS kit: Mt. Kokee, Hawaii 1 radar and beacon kit plus 1 MCS kit: Punta Salinas, Puerto Rico The delivery schedule is as follows: 18 Months after contract award: radar, beacon, and MCS kit at Hill AFB, UT 20 Months after written notice of option exercise: first four radar kits, first two beacon kits, and MCS in Alaska 24 Months after written notice of option exercise: balance of radar, beacon, and MCS kits The period of performance will be approximately five years
