Description

PRESOLICITATION NOTICE - Install Site Utilities for Building 2, NRM Project, at the VA Medical Center in Tomah, WI. Contractor shall provide for and furnish all labor, materials, equipment, temporary protection, qualified supervision, overtime, and other items designated under the provisions of this contract as outlined in the contract specifications and as shown on the contract drawings. Project consists of the following: -Placement of new communication utilities from the main campus to Building 2 and Building 10. This will include both the placement of a 6 4-inch conduit duct bank and the copper and fiber optic cables to Building 2 and two conduits from Building 2 to Building 10. Approximate distance is 1300 feet Building 32 to Building 2 and 75 feet from Building 2 to Building 10. -Placement of a new 750 kVA transformer for Building 2. This includes the segregation of power for Buildings1, Building 2 and Building 223 by the installation of a Service Distribution Enclosure. -Relocation of an existing 6-inch domestic water main. Approximate length is 150 feet. -Placement of a 6-inch industrial water main to provide condensing water for the Building 2 chiller. Approximate length is 600 feet. -Placement of a new 6-inch sanitary sewer line to Building 2. Approximate length is 75 feet. -Extension of 6-inch domestic water for fire protection service to Building 2. Approximate length is 70 feet. -Coordinate the installation of a new gas service and meter to Building 2 from the existing gas main along East Veterans Street. -Removal of the existing transformer on the south side of Building 2. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on FedBizOpps. There will be a pre-bid conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid conference will be included in the solicitation package. This solicitation is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business firms. The solicitation will be issued on or about July 19, 2011 with the bid opening on or about August 17, 2011. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from FedBizOpps which may be issued to this solicitation. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 Million applies. Time for completion is 400 calendar days after Notice to Proceed.
