Description

PRESOLICITATION NOTICE - Replace Fire Alarm Wiring - Campus Wide, NRM Project, at the VA Medical Center in Tomah, WI. Contractor shall provide for and furnish all labor, materials, equipment, temporary protection, qualified supervision, overtime, and other items designated under the provisions of this contract as outlined in the contract specifications and as shown on the contract drawings. Project consists of the following: provide an engineering upgrade to the old fire alarm panels and wiring in designated campus buildings; replace fire alarm panels and wiring in designed buildings; replace the Fire Department B-36 Silent Knight monitoring computer system, reporting system, and data logging as well as connect new panels and upgrades to B-36; replace all smoke detectors and zones as required; install new fire alarm conduit and wiring; reconnect all existing building protection system including fire alarm horns, strobes, duct smoke detectors, smoke damper interfaces, kitchen hood ventilation fire alarms lab hood ventilation fire alarms, sprinkler flow alarms, sprinkler PIV indicators, master alarm, secondary alarm panels, manual pull handle alarms, Fire Department interfaces, and other devices as per plans; provide routing and connections to meet future service and maintenance requirements; remove existing fire alarm wiring, conduit, and junction boxes as required; identify all routing and terminations and complete as built system drawings as required. This project will include ceiling and wall patching work and masonry as required. This will also include after normal hours work to facilitate patient care areas. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on FedBizOpps. There will be a pre-bid conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid conference will be included in the solicitation package. This solicitation is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business firms. The solicitation will be issued on or about July 12, 2011 with the bid opening on or about August 10, 2011. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from FedBizOpps which may be issued to this solicitation. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 Million applies. Time for completion is 270 calendar days after Notice to Proceed.
