- Limited Source Justification THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE – THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT’S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO REMOTEC, INC As required by FAR 8.405-6, a limited source determination has been prepared to document the facts and rationale to support the determination that only one source is available to provide the agency's requirement. The Department of Defense (DoD), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate, (WHS/AD) intends to award a sole source contract under the statutory authority permitting Other than full and Open Competition 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements, to Remotec, Inc, located at 353 JD YARNELL INDUSTRIAL PKWY, CLINTON, TN 37716-4013. Remotec, Inc is the sole source provider for all things Remotec, worldwide. The Government anticipates award of a single Delivery Order on GSA Contract GS-07F-0538M, Schedule 84, Category 426 4E, Bomb Disposal and Hazardous Material Protective and Detective Equipment. The Contractor shall provide: Three (3) Remotec TAC-1 Operator Control Units (OCU). TAC-1 OCU is a hand held operator controller unit. This light weight OCU features an integrated 8” (diagonal measurement) LCD monitor.Mfr Part No.: D2461-8125 Weight: 7.50 lbs This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals or quotations. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement, no later than 9:00 am Eastern, 18 July 2011 by email to karen.smith@whs.mil. All information submitted should support the offerors capability to provide the items required, and shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to cancel the Sole Source Award. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333999, All Other Miscellaneous General Purpose Machinery Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees.
