(hereinafter "Greenleaf Construction") out of Kansas City, Missouri. The contract was executed by the Contracting Officer (CO) as a Firm-Fixed Price contract type in the amount of $23,435,956.00. The CO utilized a HUBZone competition method of procurement based on market research. Greenleaf Construction was found as the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder as required by FAR 14.101 and 14.103-2 in the use of sealed bidding. The work will be performed in two construction phases: PHASE 1A: Main Building, Cafeteria, Vocation/Storage-Maintenance Building, demolition of existing buildings Nos. 1, 2 and 5, and associated site work. Phase 1A includes the abatement and demolition of several existing buildings; preparation of geotechnical wick drain and surcharge system for three new building sites; construction of the new Main Building, Cafeteria, and the Vocation/Storage-Maintenance Building; chiller yard; and associated sitework. During the course of this phase, existing center operations involving the modular facility and Building Nos. 9 (maintenance-storage) and 10 (dormitory) shall be maintained, requiring close coordination of temporary utilities and services with the center operator, as well as coordination with various utility companies. The square footages of the new buildings are as follows: Main Building - 35,620; Cafeteria - 9,280; Vocation/Storage-Maintenance - 31,000. The time for the soil consolidation required once the wick drain/ surcharge system is installed will be specified in the contract documents. PHASE 2A: Recreation Building, demolition of existing building No. 9 and modular facility, and associated site work. Phase 2A includes the demolition of Building No. 9 and the modular facility; and the construction of the new Recreation Building, which is situated on augured pile foundations, and associated site work, including that required to complete the Phase 2A utility installations. Subsequent to Substantial Completion of Phase 2A, the center operator shall move into the new buildings from the modular facility and Building No. 9 prior to their demolition. This will require a period of time (to be specified in the contract documents), and will require that the General Contractor remobilize for this phase. The square footage of the Recreation Building is 20,320.
