Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Two days of training for 48 students. Contractor must provide facility equipped to train crews to recognize, react and respond to a real life shipboard fire emergency at sea. Facility must simulate a vessel and must offer the facilities and instruction to fight an onboard fire while being flooded by two feet of water in a controlled environment. Water must be warmed to facilitate learning and ensure Soldier welfare. Two days of training for 48 students. Training must be provided at contractor's facility. Facility must simulate vessel damaged by collision, flood and fire. Training must teach crews to repair underwater hull damage, ruptured piping systems, and structural vessel damage as a result of a fire or collision. Students will be given practical experience through wet battle simulations as they learn to operate in a water flooded environment. At the conclusion of the course, Soldiers should have better understanding of how to endure the emotional and physical stress resulting from a combination of heat from the fire, working through a flooded hull and the confusion that ensues.
