Description
NASA Johnson Space Center (NASA/JSC) plans to conduct a JSC Engineering, Technologyand Science (JETS) Contract Industry Day. NASA/JSC is hereby soliciting firms to attendthis event on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the NASA/JSC Gilruth Recreation Center. Thepresentation to industry will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Alamo Ballroom.One-on-one communication opportunities will be scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. onWednesday, July 20th and from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21. JETS includes support for a broad range of activities in the Engineering Directorate (EA)and the Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science Office (ARES) Directorate (KA) atthe Johnson Space Center (JSC). EA provides products and technical services related tohuman operations in space through development and integration of a broad spectrum ofengineering skills and program experience. KA provides curatorial services forastromaterials collections, develops and operates world-class state-of-the-artlaboratories, conducts extensive research on planetary materials and processes, as wellas on the space environment, and provides dissemination of data to the scientific andacademic communities through various media forums.The current Engineering and Science Contract (ESC) SOW is provided on the JETS website athttp://procurement.jsc.nasa.gov/jets/. An online technical library for the JETSprocurement is also available via the JETS website. It is the potential offerorsresponsibility to monitor the website for updates to the technical library. GOALS: The goals of Industry Day are to: 1. Provide information on the current Engineering and Science Contract (ESC). 2. Promote competition on the proposed new JETS acquisition. 3. Share the Governments current vision for EA and KA. 4. Allow NASA/JSC to better utilize industry input to improve the future Request forProposal (RFP). Industry Day is open to all firms that are interested in pursuingcontracting/subcontracting opportunities on the JETS procurement whether they haveperformed work at JSC or not. All interested parties are encouraged to attend. No photographic or recording devices are permitted during the Industry Day presentationor one-on-one communication sessions. A 45 minute open Question and Answer Session will follow the Industry Day presentation. ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS: To facilitate interactive communications with industry, NASA personnel will also beavailable for private meetings with individual companies in conjunction with IndustryDay.The purpose of these meetings is to provide industry with the opportunity to betterunderstand the existing requirements under Engineering and Science Contract (ESC) and toallow industry an opportunity to provide input on the questions asked in the postedRequest for Information (RFI) Synopsis. In addition, the Government may ask foradditional clarification on written responses to these questions. The meetings areintended to be question and answer sessions in which neither side will be making a formalpresentation. Any company may request a one-on-one meeting. Meetings will not exceed 25 minutes inlength and attendance is limited to four persons. Scheduling of appointment times will beon a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments will be scheduled every 30 minutesbetween 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 20 and 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on July 21. Guidance for conduct during the One-on-One communications is attached to this posting asAttachment 1: One-on-One Communications with Industry Guidance. SIGN-UP REQUIREMENTS: To make reservations for the JETS Industry day and one-on-one sessions, please contactMarilyn Lewis at marilyn.k.lewis@nasa.gov. For all other questions, please contactMiyoshi Thompson at miyoshi.thompson-1@nasa.gov. The request shall include the following information: i. Subject line: 'JETS Industry Day RSVP' ii. Companys name and address.iii. The companys Point of Contacts (POC) names, telephone numbers, and e-mailaddresses. iv. The e-mail RSVP must explicitly state each of the companys attendees names andtitles of attendees (limited to four) from your company that intend to attend theone-on-one breakout sessions. Any special time requests, with justification will only beaccommodated as practical. E-mail reservations must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, July 15,2011. A confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge your reservation. Companies will be notified on or before Monday, July 18 of their assigned meeting time.(Should the number of firms requesting meetings exceed the times available on July 20 and21, other meeting times will be arranged as soon as is practical). DIRECTIONS TO THE GILRUTH CENTER:Heading South on I-45, turn Left on Bay Area Boulevard (East). Proceed approximately 3miles on Bay Area Boulevard, and then turn Right on Space Center Boulevard. Proceedapproximately 2 miles on Space Center Boulevard through two stop lights. Turn Right tothe Johnson Space Center Gilruth Center. Proceed to the Gilruth Building parking lot.Enter through the Gilruth Center's front entry, and the Alamo Ballroom will be on yourleft. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites forthe release of any solicitation or synopsis.
