- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, for Other than Full and Open Competition and FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The US Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-3013 has a requirement to procure the following items: 1. For a period of one year. Full year Fullcare Maintenance package (hardware, software, basic applications, materials, service and repairs) for Objet Connex 500V 3D printer. To include support, phone support, onsite support, preventative maintenance, T&M services, special visits, training, after-hours support, parts, maintenance kit, hardware updates, software updates. *The intended period of performance date for this service is 1 July 2011 through 30 June 2012. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements, the Government intends to award a sole source contract to Objet Geometries Inc., 5 Fortune Dr., Billerica, MA 01821-3923. The requirement for this service is for satisfying the annual maintenance, hardware, software, basic applications, materials, service and repairs of the equipment in place. Efforts to solicit other contractors are being made via this announcement in accordance with FAR 5.2. The anticipated cost of this acquisition is determined fair and reasonable by comparison of prices proposed in other purchases of this nature. All responses received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchases order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 5:00 PM EST, 28 June 2011. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
