Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons Field Acquisition Office in Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to make a single award to a qualified small business for the provision of a Pharmacy Technician for the inmate population located at the Federal Correctional Institution in Milan, MI. The successful Contractor shall provide services to include: interpret physician and physician assistant prescription orders; enter prescription orders into the pharmacy computer, and print prescription labels; select the correct medication and prepare the prescription for the institution Pharmacist approval; inventory medication and supplies; enter data for medications and supplies order in the prime vendor computer system; maintain minimum quantities on stock items and notify the institution Pharmacist of items to order; file all reports pertaining to the pharmacy, including patient records; administer and record entries for the required medication prior to approval by the institution Pharmacist; and maintain a clean and sanitary work area. Approximately 30 sessions per week, with a session defined as one (1) hour in length, Monday-Friday, from 8:00am until 3:00pm. The Contractor shall be required to perform an estimated 1440 one hour sessions a year. The Contractor must have knowledge of pharmacy, medical terminology and the art and practice of filling prescriptions. This may be achieved by successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program; actively participating in a Pharmacy Technician training program, with a minimum of 6 months of course credit established, and an internship satisfactorily completed; or minimum of 2 years in a Pharmacy Technician position. A copy of these credentials must be submitted with the quotation package. The award will be made to the responsible Contractor who submits the most advantageous quote to the Government based on price and price-related factors only. The Contracting Officer anticipates awarding an indefinite-delivery requirements type contract, with firm fixed unit pricing. The contract period shall consist of a 12-month base year with four (4) possible option years for renewal. The solicitation will be available on or about July 1, 2011, and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides all downloading instructions to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be distributed solely through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the site to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. All Contractors doing business with the Federal Government shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is on or about August 1, 2011, however, the exact date will be on the SF1449 in Block 8. The solicitation is set-aside for small business. The North American Industry Classification System code for this solicitation is 621399 with a size standard of $7.0 million. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. All responsible small businesses may submit a quote.
