Description
SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE This is a Sources Sought Notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The Department of Defense (DoD), Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Acquisition Directorate (AD) is seeking small business firms under NAICS Code 541519 that, if any, can provide RShield Software, or an equal non-developmental software that can meet the following features and capabilities: •Ability to utilize virtual environments to execute incoming email attachments for anomalous behavior for the purposes of detecting Spearphishing attacks •Ability to identify Malware when the Malware is embedded within an email attachment •Ability to remain completely invisible to both the end user as well as the attacking website or SpearPhished email sender •Ability to generate Malware Notification Alerts via SMTP and provide a GUI console for tracking threats •Ability to observe the behavior of files from outside the guest virtual machine; outside observation means that no extra processes are running in the guest machine, making the virtualization undetectable •Ability to use behavior technology that allows processor wait states to be skipped, and allows instant reverts to know good states, allowing for faster malware detection •Ability to store meta-data, such as senders, subjects, and embedded URLS, about every email received •Ability to provide user management capabilities to include sorting users by the roles/functions they perform •Ability to utilize a static analysis tool •Ability to provides a stock set of signatures and heuristics that have been developed based on extensive experience in combating the Advanced Persistent Threats •Ability to allows users to add self/other built detection technologies to the framework using a generic API •Ability to detect PDF based threats using behavioral characteristics Small business firms interested in this requirement must identify their interest and capabilities with respect to this requirement by Wednesday, 29 JUN 2011 at 11:00 am (EST).
