SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought announcement. A sources sought notice is for the purpose of market research only. Responses to this announcement will be used by the government to make appropriate acquisition decisions for this requirement. A solicitation announcement may follow this announcement. Responses to this announcement will not be considered as a response to future announcements. SYNOPSIS OF REQUIREMENT The VAMC Togus located at 1 VA Center, Augusta, Maine is seeking sources under NAICS Code 621111 (size standard of $10 million) to provide cardiology consultation on-call services. To ensure continuity of services, this will not be an agency locum tenens contract, but will be contracted directly with a local and established physician group in the Augusta, Maine area. The contract cardiologist must be located within 60 minutes of the VAMC Togus. SUMMARY OF WORK REQUIRED Services to be provided by board certified/board eligible cardiologists who are fully licensed, credentialed by VA Maine Healthcare System, and are ACLS certified. This is for consultation services only. No procedures. Cardiologist will provide cardiology consultation by telephone within fifteen (15) minutes during weekends, holidays, evenings and nights (WHEN) hours. This begins at 4:30 p.m. on week days and ends at 8:00 a.m. On weekends and Federal Holidays, this coverage includes 24 hours around the clock. In addition, the cardiologist must come to the hospital when requested by the attending physician for face to face consultation and arrive within sixty (60) minutes. Patients needing transfer for cardiac care are to be transferred to the nearest appropriate facility. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION A determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment by the Government to later publish a solicitation. No solicitation document is available. Capable parties must submit their ability to provide these items in writing to the attention of the Contract Specialist listed in this announcement by 3:00 P.M. EST on July 8, 2011.
