Description
You are cordially invited to attend an Autonomous and UnmannedSystems Support Industry/Academia Day, hosted by the SPAWAR Systems CenterPacific (SSC Pacific). This event will take place on 21 July 2011 at the SSCPacific Auditorium, 53560 Hull Street, San Diego, CA 92152-5001 from 1-5 PM.SSC Pacific is interested in partnering with industry, academia, non-profit,and not-for-profit entities for the purpose of advancing the state-of-the-artof autonomous and unmanned systems technologies leading to the next generationand generation-after-next cross-domain integrated technology solutions. Inaddition to a traditional Multiple Award Contract approach, it is SSC Pacific'sintent to also enter into an Other Transaction Agreement with a consortium inorder to leverage investigations and development of advanced concepts with bothtraditional and non-traditional entities.Consortium members will participate with their Government counterparts toinform and shape SSC Pacific's annual autonomous and unmanned systems researchplans. These plans will focus on key elements of SSC Pacific's Science andTechnology framework. It is expected that consortium members will provideinput on a wide array of enabling technologies.The purpose of this event is to engage interested members of the autonomous andunmanned systems private sector to consider the benefits and opportunities forentering into either a traditional Multiple Award Contract or an OtherTransaction Agreement with SSC Pacific. The following information will bepresented to attendees:- A DoD Perspective on the Autonomous and Unmanned Systems- An Overview of on-going DoD Activities and Studies- Partnering with SSC Pacific. The Consortium Construct- Proposed Way ForwardNo sensitive or classified information will be discussed. Foreign-owned,controlled, or influenced firms are advised that security restrictions mayapply that may preclude their participation in these efforts.Registration for the Autonomous and Unmanned Systems Industry/Academia Day isfree. Attendees for Industry/Academia Day are limited to two (2) individualsper company. Point of contact for registration and questions is Ms. JessicaBlack at jessica.c.black@navy.mil. Please respond by 11 July 2011 indicatingyour intent to attend. Provide company name, attendee names and point ofcontact information. Detailed instructions will be provided to attendees by 14July 2011.
