- Description
- Notice of Intent: The VAMC, Washington, DC, VISN 5, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Sciton for The only multi-laser platform, which consists the wavelengths of 2940, 755, and broadband light with 420, 515, 560, 590, 640, 695. With the 2940, physicians perform full field resurfacing and fractional resurfacing with complete control of the thermal properties of the ablation and coagulation. Coagulation can be turned on or off {which can ™t be done with Co2 lasers} and the depth of ablation can be controlled from 4 microns up to 1500 microns. This is to be utilized for scar revision for our war wounded, acne scars, wrinkles and skin rejuvenation. The 755 alexandrite utilizes scanned technology for perfect spot placement and overlap control for hair removal firing up to 10 laser pulses per second. This is used for hair removal and PFB. The BBL is the only pulsed light in the industry which incorporates dual flash lamps plus precise control of sapphire crystal temperatures from 0-30 degrees centigrade plus interchangeable on the fly wavelength guides plus magnetic snap on spot adapters which change the 15x45mm sapphire plate to spots ranging from 1.5 cm square to 7mm round to 11mm round. This is used for vascular lesions, pigmented lesions, active acne and hair removal. The Sciton Joule is the only device on the market that provides this combination of wavelengths in a single laser platform with robotic scanned technology and precise control of photon energy with speed and depth of delivery of the individual wavelengths that is unparalleled. The NAICS code 334510 applies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or a request for offerors. No solicitation package is available at this time. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 4:00 PM (EST) on June 27, 2011. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Responses must be mailed to: VA Medical Center, Attn: Charles Willis (BH-135), Contract Specialist, 50 Irving Street, NW, Washington, DC 20422, or email: Charles. Willis@va.gov.
