Description

VA Fargo Health Care System, Fargo, North Dakota is seeking potential firms that have the performance capability for Project 437-11-107, Install Auxiliary Steam Main. Contract completion date is 270 days after notice to proceed. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) contractors. The estimated dollar value is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $33.5 million. A 20% bid bond will be required at submission of bids. Performance and Payment bonds will be required within 10 days of contract award. To be eligible for award, SDVOSB must be considered small under the relevant NAICS code and must be registered and verified in the following sites: www.vetbiz.gov, www.orca bpn.gov and www.ccr.gov. Provide all material, labor, equipment, etc. necessary to complete the construction of VA Fargo Health Care System project 437-11-107, Auxiliary Steam Main, in accordance with the contract documents. The auxiliary steam main shall consist of a system similar or equal to those manufactured by Perma-Pipe. Work shall involve, but shall not be limited to, the removal of asphalt and excavation of material to allow for the installation of the new steam and condensate piping system, concrete work associated with the construction of a small section of tunnel and a pit where the piping enters the mechanical room at the main medical center. Piping shall than be routed in the building to the main steam header within the building. Interior piping shall be fully insulated in accordance with the specifications. The new lines shall be double valved per the contract drawings. Provisions shall be made for the potential use of a skid or trailer mounted temporary boiler(s) which may be used during future boiler replacement project, in the event there is a catastrophic failure or when required replacement work (such as the replacement of a motor control center, building switchgear, etc) at the existing boiler plant restricts the production of steam. Temporary boiler system shall include, but shall not be limited to, rough in work for a steam header or main line connection location, water supply lines, condensate and power connections. Phasing is critical in order to keep roadways and loading docks open. All work shall be in compliance with all applicable NFPA, NEC, Life Safety Code, UFAS, OSHA and other pertinent code requirements. This solicitation is anticipated to be available on www.fbo.gov on or about 30 June 2011.
