Description

THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 636-345, '313 Addition & Remodel ” Phase H', at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System, Des Moines, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. This project will construct a new medical/surgical Unit 3B to provide for the appropriate configuration for the delivery of state-of-the-art inpatient bed services with the addition of 29 single patient rooms and the required space necessary for supporting functions. Work will include general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems, and certain other items. Work is to be completed within 450 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (kenneth.spohn@va.gov). Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for July 14, 2011. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be conducted during the week of August 1-5, 2011. See issued solicitation for actual date, time and gathering location. Bid Opening Date is tentatively scheduled for August 25 2011, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAMC, Iowa City, IA. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $33.5 million. Cost range is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
