- SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 22-FT HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEY BOAT U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS, OMAHA DISTRICT SEDIMENT & CHANNEL STABILIZATION SECTION, CENWO-ED-HF GENERAL THIS BOAT WILL BE USED TO COMPLETE HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYS OF THE LAKES AND RIVERS WITHIN THE MISSOURI RIVER BASIN. THE BOAT AND TRAILER MUST BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE RIGORS OF LAKE AND RIVER SURVEYING INCLUDING SHALLOW WATER, SANDBARS, SNAGS, AND ROCK PROTECTED BANK LINES. THE BOAT IS ALSO TRAILERED LONG DISTANCES OVER INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS AND GRAVEL ROADS. THE BOAT SHOULD BE SIMILAR IN DESIGN BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEY BOAT IN THE PHOTOGRAPH USING THE TECHNICALSPECIFICATIONS LISTED BELOW. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS BOAT/HULL: * 22-ft long plate boat/98-inch beam/8? bow angle/30-in sides & 2 spray rails * Cross & side ribs will be on 12-in centers * Bottom & sides shall be a minimum 0.190 thick aluminum * Bow hull reinforcement * Flotation filled hull * Self-draining bow deck w/ drain holes in side rails and lip running beam to beam * Fore/aft lifting eyes * Fore/aft mooring cleats * Outboard engine guard * 2 saddle fuel tank w/gauges (total > 50 gallons) * Boat & cabin shall be painted tan. * Diamond plate floor shall be a minimum 0.125-in thick aluminum * Gritted non-skid deck walking surfaces * 25" reinforced transom * Open stern ENGINES: * Twin 75 hp 4-stroke boat motors * Hydraulic steering * All instruments & controls * Hydraulic jack plate for each motor * 2 aluminum + 2 stainless steel propellers * 2 extra ignition keys TRAILER: * EZ Loader or equivalent trailer w/roller bunks * Reinforced guide-ons w/bracing every 2-feet * Electric trailer brakes * Two spare tires * Stainless steel retractable transom tie-downs * LED lighting CABIN: * 96-in length/76-in floor to ceiling height * Front swing-out, tinted windshields with safety glass. * Side sliding tinted windows front & rear with safety glass * Front & rear doors centered w/keyed alike locks & safety glass * Handrails/roof rack around roof top * 90-in x 8.5-in x 8.5-in roof top storage unit w/doors @ both ends & mounted outside of roof rack * Starboard side steering * Two heavy-duty cushioned high back captain's seats (similar to Cabelas item #IK-018399) on storage box type pedestal, with swivel mount, front (see example pic below for pedestal example) * Front, port side lap top/work table w/underneath storage shelf * Hinged front step for access to storage under bow deck (see example pic below) * Starboard side 36-inch long padded bench seat/storage box * 2 ceiling mounted cabin fans, port & starboard * Steering wheel knob mounted to steering wheel ELECTRICAL: * Circuit breaker panel * 12-volt buss for hydrographic survey equipment * Lighted instruments including tachometer, gas gauges & cigarette lighter * Navigation lights * Rear facing, roof mounted outside work light * Electric windshield wipers * Electric horn * Red/white cabin lights * Heavy duty dual marine batteries with selector switch for engines & cabin service * Separate boat & equipment batteries * 2 heavy duty deep cycle marine batteries charged by 2 trickle chargers from boat engines for powering Hydrographic survey equipment. * 2 trickle chargers wired to boat engines * Electric bilge pump in open rear for easy access * Port side hydrographic equipment battery box w/hinged lid * 750 watt 4-outlet converter from boat batteries & attached to front of ADCP/transducer well. TRANSDUCER WELL: * Transducer/adcp combination well w/removable hatch. The well must be constructed with a 0.5-in high density polyethylene acoustic window at the surface. Design of transducer well to be approved by COE prior to construction of the well. * Acoustic window shall be gasketed to accommodate removal and replacement. * Well must be large enough to accommodate a TRDI Workhorse 1200 khz, or RiverRay ADCP unit and an Odom CV100 echosounder transducer. * Well must be designed so that in the case of polycarbonate window breakage, the boat will not fill with water. * *Note: ADCP sampling and hydrographic sounding can be done concurrently or individually. Only one ADCP unit will be employed at any one time. We have both a Workhorse RioGrande and a RiverRay. Both constructed by TRDI. Well shall be large enough to accommodate the larger of the two, the RioGrande. The ADCP shall always be mounted with a >=1" gap between the bottom of the ADCP unit and the acoustic window. The transducer will be mounted flush to the window. We might desire to remove the plate and have both the ADCP and transducer open to the water, flooding the inside of the well to the current draft level. Well should be designed with this in mind. In the case of removal of the window, a plug, or plate, will be employed to seal the well when moving at speed in the water. MISCELLANEOUS: * Delivery to Omaha, Nebraska GOVERNMENT FURNISHED ITEMS THESE ITEMS WILL BE FURNISHED TO THE CONTRACTOR BY THE COE: * Humminbird gps/depth sounder top of dash mounted for installation
