Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Nalco Chemical Company, 17 Nelson Street, #4, Auburn, NY 13021. SSA has a follow-on requirement for Nalco Chemical Company to furnish water treatment services, chemicals, and instrumentation to treat the mechanical cooling tower's condenser water system, building closed-loop heating and chilled water system at SSA's Main Complex in Baltimore, MD. Nalco Chemical Company is uniquely qualified to administer SSA's water treatment program because they are the manufacturer of the highly specialized equipment and chemicals used for this program. Market research shows that all chemical companies patent and calibrate their own chemical injection system and for another company to perform a start-up of a new chemical system would be costly to SSA. The substantial duplication of cost to the Government is not expected to be recovered through competition. This notice is for informational purposes only and is neither a request for quotation nor an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement via email to Nichole.Mccollum@ssa.gov by 12:00 EST, June 16, 2011, which shall be considered by the agency. The Government will consider all information from responsible sources, but a determination by the Government not to compete this action is solely at the discretion of the Government.
