Description

THIS IS A TOTAL 100% SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) SET-ASIDE. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Iowa intends to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract to provide all tools, materials, equipment and labor necessary for completion of general construction project 636A8-11-015, "Upgrade Interior Finishes, Bldg. 1, Phase 2", at the Iowa City VAHCS, Iowa City, Iowa, in accordance with the drawings and specifications. Work includes, but not limited to, installation of new lighting, flooring, painting, asbestos abatement, general construction of new rooms, per specifications and drawings. Work will require to be done after hours and weekend in a professional manner complying with infection control measures. The floors include Eight, Six, Four, Second and Basement. Access to certain rooms will require 24/7 access and phasing to allow the medical center to function with as little disruption as possible for the patients. Work is to be completed for : Bid Item I - 390 days from notice to proceed. Bid Item II - 300 days from notice to proceed. Bid Item III - 240 days from notice to proceed. Bid Item IV - 180 days from notice to proceed. Specifications and Drawings for submitting a bid will be available at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All respondents must be registered in the CCR database (http://www.ccr.gov) and complete online Representations and Certifications at (http://orca.bpn.gov), along with Vets 100 at (http://vets.dol.gov/vets100/). Bidders must be registered in VetBiz at (http://www.vetbiz.gov/). Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/). All parties must obtain amendments to the solicitation through this web site. Hard copies will not be mailed. Interested parties must go to the web site to be entered on the Interested Vendors List and/or to obtain copies of the Interested Vendors List. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to (felecia.beamen@va.gov). Issue Date is tentatively scheduled for July, 29, 2011. The Pre-bid meeting/Site-visit will be announced upon Solicitation issuance. Bid Opening Date is tentatively scheduled for August 29, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. (local time), in Bldg. #21, Room #1B03f at the Iowa City VAMC, Iowa City, IA, but exact date may vary depending on issuance of the solicitation. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220, with the applicable size standard being $33.5 million. Cost range is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
