Description
Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the task of this project involving, disassembly, preparation for moving, moving loads onto trucks, shipping from Newport Chemical Depot to Rock Island Arsenal, moving off loads at Rock Island, IL, and reassembly of equipment at Rock Island Arsenal. The largest pieces to be moved consist of two generator enclosures. Each of the two enclosures measures about 45 feet long, 11 feet 4 inches high, and 14 feet 7 inches wide, and weighs about 4 tons. Each enclosure must be disassembled into 4 pieces for shipping. The enclosures must also be unbolted from concrete slabs at Newport Chemical Depot. There are numerous pipes, conduits, and other equipment fastened to the interior of the enclosures which must be removed to enable the enclosures to be disassembled. Each of the two Caterpillar generators weighs about 45,000 pounds, and is 21-1/2 feet long, 9 feet wide, and 11 feet high. The generator enclosures must be removed befor the generators can be moved. There are numerous other pieces of equipment to be removed from Newport Chemical Depot and shipped to Rock Island Arsenal. Some of this equipment requires partial disassembly before shipment. All of the equipment that is not rated for outdoor exposure needs to be protected from dirt and moisture while exposed to the weather. This especially applies to all electrical equipment, which is easily damaged by exposure to moisture. Estimated issue date is on or after June 24, 2011. Any drawings and/or specifications will be made available after the solicitation has been posted to the web. The solicitation will be issued electrically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided.
