Description
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work to be performed under this project consists ofproviding the labor, equipment, and materials to perform the following: 1. Demolish the steam cross country piping to the buildings served with steam heat asindicated in the contract documents.2. Demolish and remove all steam and condensate piping, all pressure reducing stations,and all steam condensate pumps in the buildings as indicated in the contract documents.3. Demolish and remove all existing steam and condensate supports and foundations as wellas steam pits as indicated in the contract documents.4. Furnish and install systems required to convert the existing buildings where indicatedto electric heat in all of the buildings currently served by steam in the test areas asindicated in the contract documents.5. Furnish and install fan-powered ambient vaporizer systems for the hydrogen facility(Building 4657) as indicated in the contract documents.6. Furnish and install fan-powered ambient vaporizer systems for the nitrogen facility(Building 4659) as indicated in the contract documents.7. Furnish and install high pressure piping and control systems for the high pressurehydrogen and high pressure nitrogen ambient vaporizer systems as indicated in thecontract documents.8. Furnish and install electrical service and equipment as required to support newsystems as indicated in the contract documents.9. Furnish and install new overhead electrical service, including power poles, overheadprimary and transformers as indicated in the contract documents.10. Furnish and install metering at buildings as indicated in the contract documents.11. Furnish and install additional lighting protection at building 4657 as indicated.12. Facility modifications as required by the installation of the new equipment andsystems as indicated in the contract documents.13. Site civil work as required by the new electrical service and as required by thedemolition of the existing steam cross-country lines as indicated in the contractdocuments.14. Furnish and install new concrete foundations and equipment pads required by newelectrical equipment, new fan powered ambient vaporizers, and HVAC equipment as indicatedin the contract documents.15. Incidental facility modifications associated with the mechanical, electrical,structural, and civil work indicated, including minor suspended acoustic ceiling removaland reinstallation, minor roof and/or wall openings, miscellaneous minor cutting andpatching as well as painting, and repair of all fire rated assemblies affected by work.
