Description

The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to procure Cisco Networking equipment and InfoBlox Network Appliances for the expansion of the USNA network. The supplies will support an additional ISP, which will include the migration of ISP to include Internet 2 for the use of faculty and students at the US Naval Academy. The procurement is being processed through other than full and open competition pursuant to the statutory authority of Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996, as implemented by FAR 13.501(a), a Sole Source acquisition (Brand Name) under the authority of the test program for certain commercial items. The Government intends to solicit the manufacturer, Cisco, authorized resellers since they are the only known sources with the capability of satisfying the government ™s requirements at this time. This procurement is 100% set-aside for small businesses. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A fixed price purchase order will be issued, and conducted in accordance with FAR 12 for Commercial Items and FAR 13.5 Test Program Procedures for SAP Commercial Items. The NAICS for this requirement is 443120. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and may submit information that shall be considered by FISC Norfolk Contracting Department Philadelphia Division. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any responses to this synopsis should be sent to the attention of April Walters, Code 260.1X at April.Walters@navy.mil. These responses must be received by 14 June 2011.
