Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Center - Warren (ACC - Warren), formerly known as the U.S. ARMY TACOM LCMC, has a requirement for the following commercial item to support the Afghanistan and Iraq Security Forces missions. The acquisition strategy will be full and open competition, per FAR Part 6.1. Light Utility Trailers and Spare Parts. The LUT shall be a single axle drawbar vehicle, capable of being towed by a 4x4 crew cab pickup truck with class IV towing package and swivel pintle, compatible with a pintle height range of 16 to 22 inches (40 to 56 cm). Each LUT shall be provided with a light package that shall include at least turn signals, taillights, backup light and brake lights. Each LUT shall be provided with a mounted lockable toolbox with a padlock and two keys and the location shall not be in the cargo space. LUT shall be equipped with metal fenders. The LUT curb weight shall be not more than 1975 pounds (896 kg). LUT shall have a ground clearance of 7.5 inches (19 cm) and the width of the tires shall be 67 to 71 inches (170 to 180 cm). The LUT shall be capable of being stored and operated in temperatures ranging from 25 to 120 F (-32 to 49 C). LUT shall be capable of carrying a minimum payload of 1200 pounds (544 kg) both on and off-road. LUT shall be capable of operating 50% of mission on paved roads, 25% on unpaved roads, and 25% off road (trails). The cargo space length shall be between 60 to 72 inches (152 to 183 cm) and the cargo space width shall be a minimum of 52 inches (132 cm). Please see Specifications for further information. This requirement will be solicited as a Three (3) year requirements contract with two (2) additional option periods under solicitation number W56HZV-11-R-G211. The estimated quantity of the Light Utility Trailers for the Three years is 100 total. Each option year thereafter is 25 each. The estimated quantity of the Light Utility Trailers for the Five (5) years is 150 total. FAR Part 12 with supplemental information will be used. Source Selection trade off criteria will be used to evaluate proposals. This solicitation is tentatively scheduled to be issued on June 13, 2011, and responses will be due 30 calendar days thereafter.
