- The purpose of this requirement is to provide a Primate Playpen A stainless steel primate playpen is requested which must have the following characteristics: 1.Pen has a 24 sq. ft. floor space, 62" inside height. 2.A fixed pin construction design method is used 3.The Pen has a raised flooring system reinforced fiberglass and a raised dry bedding pan 4.The pen has two different sized reinforced fiberglass decking Perch Platform that are easily removable for cleaning or for study requirements 5.Two different style Ladder assemblies are incorporated -one for enrichment and one for accessing the Penthouse Nesting Compartment. 6.The Partition Wall between pens features colored surfaced Trespa Composite Panels to isolate individual pens. 7.Pen Partitions- (removable/replaceable) without the use of tools. 8.The Outer Pen panels feature Stainless Steel Mesh Panels to allow for interior pen/animal observation by the user and increase the light infusion into the pen. 9.Removable Top Panels are located above the pen. 10.A NHP Penthouse Nesting Compartment is located on the top of the pen. 11.The Front Panel includes a Swing Front access door with a Side Sliding Door that includes an Enrichment box/Transport Cage. A 3" x 5" stainless steel Cardholder is included on the front door panel 12.The Enrichment Box was designed to also be utilized as a Transport Box for smaller primates with the addition of a Guillotine Style closure door 13.The Swing Door features a dual opening Feeder access panel that locks the Feeder/ Waterier in place. 14.The Feeder/ Waterier has a shelf Perch option for smaller NHP's 15.A vertical escape guard grid panel is located on the bottom front of the pen 16.Pen Front Panel with Door: -Frame- Stainless steel 1.50" Square Tubing (16 gauge wall) -Door Frame- Stainless steel 1.00" Square Tube (16 gauge wall), Hinged Swing Out -Mesh Assemblies-Stainless steel.3125" diameter rod frame, 8 gauge (.162) wires on 1" Square Pattern. -Mesh panels are spaced.25" away from tubing framework. -Standard 3" x 5" horizontal Cardholder with backing plate. -Dual Feeder Locking Plate- Stainless steel 16 gauge (.060) with 2-stainless steel spring Loaded latches -Side Sliding Door- Stainless steel.375" diameter rod with Enrichment box Holder Assembly (Approx. 12 x 18 opening) 15. Top Panel: (three per Pen) -Stainless steel 1.50" square tubing (16 gauge wall) -Stainless steel.3125" diameter rod frame, stainless steel 8 gauge (.162) wire on 1" square pattern 16. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments and all questions and answers relating to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ or https://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about, June 6, 2011, and will only be available until June 21, 2011. Specifications of the requirement are provided in solicitation: W81XWH-11-T0360. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. To be eligible for an award, offerors MUST be registered with the Central Contractor Registry at https://ccr.gov/ and may have completed its representations and certification found at https://orca.bpn.gov/.
