- This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) NNG11333577R replacing NNG10333577R for thepurchase of two (2) telescopes 1m aperture classical Cassegrain reflectors based on theGLAS (Geoscience Laser Altimeter System) design for flight aboard ICESat-2 Satellitelaunching in 2015.NASA will supply drawings for fabrication of the telescopes. The ICESat-2 Project willfurnish I-220-H Beryllium billets to the selected contractor after contract award tobuild these two (2) telecopes.This procurement is a full and open competition. The NAIS code is 333314, and the sizestandard is 500. This competitive procurement will result in a Cost Plus Fixed Feecontract (CPFF). The period of performance is 48 weeks (desired) and 56 weeks (required)after award.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.The Government does not intend to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12.The installation Ombudsman is Nancy A. Abell, who can be contacted atnancy.a.abell@nasa.gov, or (301) 286-5867.The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over theInternet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application.
