Description
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Information Technology (C4IT) Service Center has a requirement for onsite NAVSEA Cableway Training and Certification throughout the USCG. DHS/USCG has concluded their requirement will best be met through an aaard to AMSEC LLC. AMSEC LLC has overseen the Cableway Improvement Program (CIP) for NAVSEA since 1986. Outside of the U.S. Navy, it is believed that AMSEC LLC is the only contractor company certified to conduct this program and award cableway certifications for installation and inspecting. The course covers all NAVSEA requirements and skill sets in depth. The cableway program provides NAVSEA Cableway Training and Certification to students. This training and certification provides the students with the safety and knowledge to inspect the ship's cableways and identify and correct all Category 1 and 2 discrepancies, to include the removal of dead-end cables, repair of wire way discrepancies and correction of all Fire Zone and watertight discrepancies. The program is conducted in compliance with DOD STD 2003 Electrical Plant Installation Standard Methods 9EPISM) and NAVSEAINST 9304.1D Shipboard Electrical Cable and Cableway Inspection and Reporting Procedures. NAVSEA letter, Serial #07Q/182 dated 19 March 1996, pertains to program authorization. It is believed that AMSEC (then part of SAIC AMSEC) is the only vender authorized and such NAVSEA authorizsation is mandatory for award. It is contemplated that an awarded utilizing FAR PART 13 procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No telephone inquiries will be honored.
