Description
The U.S. Geological Survey, South Central Area, has a requirement to acquire LiDAR data over portions of the central Texas counties of Bell, McLennan, Burnet, Lampasas, Coryell, Falls, and Williamson. The total project area is approximately 2,349 square miles. USGS has the opportunity to obtain all this imagery from Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS), a division of the Texas Water Development Board at approximately 8% of the cost of the entire project because other agencies and local governments will contribute the remaining funds for this project. Imagery requirements are as follows: Specifications:1)Horizontal Accuracy: <75 cm RMSEr2)Vertical Accuracy: <15 cm RMSEz3)Ground Sample Distance (GSD): 0.5 Meter (4pts/m2)4)Horizontal Datum: NAD835)Vertical Datum: NAVD886)Projection: UTM7)Vertical units: Meters (orthometric, NAVD88)8)Horizontal units: Meters (UTM) Deliverables and File Formats:1)Report of Survey (text report)2)Aircraft trajectories (SBET files)3)All-return point cloud (LAS format, 4ppsm) 4)4)Ground (bare-earth) elevation model (ESRI grid format, 1 meter DEM) 5)5)Hydro-flattening Breaklines (3D shapefile format)6)Intensity image (GeoTIFF format, 1 meter pixel resolution) 7)Formal metadata (xml format, FGDC compliant at tile and project level) Estimated Delivery Date: October 15, 2011 Project Area: 2,349 square miles / 589 USGS Quarter-quarter-quarter quadrangles (DO3Q) Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1(2), the government considers the item specified as a sole source from TNRIS 1700 N. Congress, Room B-40Austin, Texas 78701 and proposes to negotiate with that firm only. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and provide considerable cost sharing are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered a non-response to this request without further consideration. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business June 16, 2011 by 3:00 P.M. Mountain Standard Time. This notice represents the Governments only official notice of this procurement.
