- Red River Army Depot (RRAD) intends to issue a solicitation resulting in a contract to install and make operational, a skid mounted, self contained water treatment system capable of providing physical and chemical treatment of industrial waste water containing suspended solids, oils, greases and heavy metals. Treatment system shall treat waste water in a manner sufficient to allow for re-use or reintroduction to RRAD's wastewater collection system. The water treatment system will be a standard product of the manufacturer and will be of heavy duty quality, intended for continuous outdoor use. It is intended that the subject equipment, all components and accessories shall be a commercially available product of the manufacturer or his suppliers. It shall be of the manufacturer's design and all components utilized shall be carried in stock or can be produced in a reasonable period of time. All parts shall be new and unused. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Designed for continuous process operation (outdoor and inclement weather) All components skid mounted (Can be up to three (3) skids in total) 20 Gallon per minute processing capacity Self contained, less utilities Vendor to provide all inner connections, drain lines, suction lines and pumps Waste cake shall contain 40% solids (minimum) Equalization tank capacity (10,000 gallon) (skid mounted) Integrated float controls on weir tank pump to prevent overflow of equalization tank Input waste water to be gravity fed from the equalization tank (preferred) but can be discharged into system by pump All chemicals used shall be nonproprietary and commercially available Provides for low level shut down of the system when Equalization tank capacity is low The contractor shall provide a full Turn-key installation of the system. The installation shall include all equipment, labor and materials to install the system and make it fully operational and functional. Upon arrival at RRAD equipment shall be ready to be installed. Installation drawings and manuals shall arrive to RRAD with the equipment. No major equipment assemblies will need to be performed before installation. The Government will provide necessary utilities to within 20' of equipment location. Utilities available are electric (480 volt 3 phase) and air (80psi). No other utilities shall be required. The supplier is responsible for the complete installation including all rigging and equipment. The contractor shall coordinate the proposed installation schedule with the receiving activity within forty five (45) days after award of contract. The installation schedule shall be subject to approval of the authorized RRAD representative. Approval of the installation schedule shall not relieve the contractor of any responsibility for performance. A solicitation will be issued on or about May 24, 2011 that will address specifics such as site visits, site conditions, specifications, and other concerns regarding the equipment requirement.
