Description
Notice of Intent to award a sole-source contract extension. Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6, Subpart 6.302-1 only one source, the Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Riley, KS intends to exercise the FAR 52.217-8 six month option (not evaluated at time of award) of this delivery order to extend the period of performance with a potential value of $295,000.00 with U.S. Foodservice, INC., 9755 Patuxent Woods Drive, Columbia, MD 21046 for the supply of food and food service supply items to Irwin Army Community Hospital, Ft Riley, Kansas. Requirement: Providing a full, commercial product catalog with enough diversity and inventory to meet the healthcare needs and economic constraints of each facility. The following are the requirements: a)a variety of food types including nutrient modified foods, appropriate for the use of a hospital, in all product categories. b)multiple product choices for each food type and grade level, allowing for various price levels. c)a variety of pack sizes, from individual portion packs to small/medium multi-serve packaging to large bulk packs for commissaries. d)a broad ranged inventory of: supply products (paper, plastics, foil, etc), chemicals (cleaning and sanitation), and small food service equipment, (scoops, ladles, tongs, can openers, pans, trays, etc.). e)sufficient inventories (SKUs) to minimize the need for "special orders". f)fresh produce. g)paper products for use in the hospital, ie plates, napkins, take out containers h)"Special Order" process for products not routinely available Usually requires two to three deliveries per week. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, pricing, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Governments needs no later than the 15th day after this notice is posted. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to MICC Fort Riley, attn: W911RX-07-F-0070; 1792 12th Street; Fort Riley, KS 66442-4160. This synopsis is not considered a request for bid/quote/proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests for technical information will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on a basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the Government.
