Description
This is a large acquisition for NSN 6160-01-529-9083. Specifications, plans or drawings are not available from the Government. This acquisition is for supplies for which the Government does not possess complete, unrestrictive technical data; therefore, the Government intends to solicit and contract with only approved sources under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1). Current approved manufacturer is Exide Technologies (CAGE 88219) P/N N03112022S. This solicitation will be issued on 06/02/11 and closes 07/01/11. This requirement is for a quantity of 3424 each to be shipped to New Cumberland, PA (W25G1U) and Tracy, CA (W62G2T). The Government's requested delivery time is 100 days. FOB is destination and inspection/acceptance is at destination. While price may be a signfincant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final award decision will be based on a combination of price, delivery, past performance and other evaluation factors as described in the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. This solicitation will be available in the FedBizOpps on its issue date of 06/02/11. One or more of the items under this acquisition may be subject to agreement on Government procurement approved and implemented in the United States by Trade Agreements Act of 1979. All offers shall be in the English language and in U.S. dollars. All interested suppliers may submit an offer. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Based upon Market Research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the Contracting Officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of the notice. The Small Business size standard is 500 employees. There is no Set-Aside for this solicitation.
