- Description
- The Department of the Navy ™s (DoN) Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems PEO IWS intends to host an Industry Day for the Common Display System (CDS) Program in order to present an overview of the plans for future acquisitions of CDS services and products. CDS is the US Navy ™s display console for surface ship systems intended to be used across all programs to reduce life cycle costs by providing qualified displays to programs instead of having each program developing and qualifying independent display consoles. Currently CDS has several variants either in fielding or final qualification. The Navy anticipates awarding one or more contracts through competitive processes for a) production of the CDS equipment; and b) an Engineering Services contract to support the development and qualification of required Technology Insertion / Technology Refresh items. The CDS Industry Day will be held on Tuesday 14 June 2011 at Alion Science and Technology, 1100 New Jersey Ave., SE, Washington DC, 20003, Suite 200. Check-in will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Briefings will begin promptly at 9 a.m. The following information is provided: a) the Industry Day is open to all contractors who have registered for the event and received a registration confirmation. All interested parties must register with Ms. Jane Mei, 202-781-4091, jane.mei@navy.mil. Registration will be open from 8 a.m. May 18, 2011 through 8 a.m. June 9, 2011 or until the number of registrants reaches 200 people; b) Each contractor will be limited to 3 registrants per company on a first come basis; c) If 200 people have not registered by 8 a.m. June 9, 2011, registration for the event will remain open. At that time, registration will be extended to those contractors wishing to register additional attendees not to exceed 10 total people per company; d) Registration will be verified prior to entrance. Due to seating capacity restrictions each contractor will be limited to the total number of their confirmed registrations; e) Walk-ins will be allowed to register if seats are available, on a first-come basis starting at 8:45 a.m. on the day of the event; f) PEO IWS 6.0 will be collecting point of contact information from any contractor wishing to be added to the Contractor POC list. All interested contractors will be given the opportunity at registration to provide a POC name and contact information for their company. This list will be compiled and provided back to all Industry Day Contractor POCs to facilitate teaming and subcontractor arrangements; g) Industry Day will include answers to previously submitted questions. Only written questions provided in advance to Ms. Jane Mei, 202-781-4091, jane.mei@navy.mil by 8 a.m. June 9, 2011 will be considered for answer. Written questions may be deposited in a box the day of the event and will be considered for answers after the event. Answers will be provided to all Industry Day Contractor POCs who provided email addresses at registration; h) After the Government presentations at industry day, PEO IWS 6.0 will entertain individual industry presentations on company capabilities in the area of display systems and technologies. Each company that desires to make a presentation will be given 20 minutes to present to the government their capabilities in the manufacturing, design and support of display systems in a one on one (individual company and government only) session. These sessions will be held immediately following Industry Day on 14 June 2011 at Booz Allen Hamilton, 20 M Street, SE, Suite 1000, Washington, DC. Companies must register no later than 8 a.m. June 9, 2011 with Ms. Jane Mei, 202-781-4091, jane.mei@navy.mil. Each company will be given a specific time slot on a first come basis and will be notified of their time on 9 June 2011. The information provided by the Government at Industry Day is for information purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal, Invitation for Bid, or Request for Quotation, and is not a commitment by the Government to issue a contract or order. The Government will not pay for any effort expended or any material provided in response to this announcement, nor will the Government return any data provided.
