Description
This synopsis will result in a Request for Quote (RFQ) using FAR 12 & 13 simplified acquisition procedures for Foreign Weapons Training (FWT) at Fort Polk, LA. The Period of Performance will be for one (1) base year from the date of contract award. The FWT requirement can be in austere field conditions and is designed to provide Fort Polk Military Transition Teams (MTT) with a general overview of the opposition weapons and capabilities in support of military requirements. The Contractor will provide a current Federal Firearms License (FFL) in accordance with Federal and State Laws. The training will consist of the following foreign weapons: AK-47, RPK Machinegun, PKM, SVD Sniper Weapon, and RPG-7 Rocket Propelled Grenade. FWT will also consist of firing the AK-47, the PKM and the SVD. The weapons need to be operational for both the Live Fire Exercise and the Preliminary Marksmanship Instructions. There will be twelve classroom preliminary marksmanship instructions (PMI's) conducted as well as twelve live fire exercises (LFX's). The approximate number of students for the Live Fire Exercises and Preliminary Marksmanship Instructions will be 350. Classes normally are between 30 and 70 students. This requirement will be a 100% set aside for small business. The applicable NAICS code is 611699 with a business size standard of $7 million. The government intends to issue a solicitation on or about 25 May 2011.
