Description
A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are a reasonable number of interested small business concerns to set this future project aside for them. If your firm is a Small Business, certified HUBZONE, 8A, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business and you are interested in this project please respond appropriately. The scope for this project is to mill and overlay a full width section of WPAFB main concrete runway 5L-23R. The section of mill and overlay is 300 feet wide by 10,000 feet long of the runway and up to 200 feet along connector taxiways. Pavement demolition will consist of full width removal of the 10,000 feet of runway. Removal will consist of milling HMA pavement 4 inches or to the underlying PCC pavement. The minimum HMA overlay pavement depth will be 3 inches to 4 inches. Grooving and pavement marking of the runway will be required. An existing Aircraft Arresting System's (AAS) BAK-14 cable support system in the runway is to remain in place and placed back in service upon project completion. The work shall include protection of existing lighting as required. The construction project will include new runway surface condition sensors and their associated wiring that require replacement and the existing displaced threshold that requires relocation. Phased construction will be required and the runway shall remain in operation during winter construction shutdown Contract duration is estimated at 365 Days. The estimated cost range is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. NAICS is 236220. All interested Small Businesses, certified HUBZONE, 8A, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business contractors should respond to this survey by email NLT 01 June 2011 by 12:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Responses should include: (1) Identification and verification of the company's small business status. (2) The level of performance and payment bonding capacity that the company could attain for the proposed project. (3) Descriptions of Experience - Criteria: a. Projects similar in scope to this project include: new airfield pavement construction or complete asphalt overlay b. Projects similar in size to this project include: Minimum 600,000 Square feet in size. c. Projects similar in dollar value to this project include: $10, 000,000 - A statement of the portion of the work that will be self performed on this project, and how it will be accomplished. Please only include a narrative of the requested information; additional information will not be reviewed. Based on the definitions above, for each project submitted, include: a. Current percentage of construction complete and the date when it was or will be completed. b. Scope of the project. c. Size of the project. d. Dollar value of the project. e. The portion and percentage of the project that was self preformed.
