Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commerical items prepared in accordance with the format found in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested, and a separate written soliciation will not be issued. The soliciation number for this request is F11PS00674 and the solicitation is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the current Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC 05-51) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). This is not a small business set aside, procurement NAICS classification code: 423610 and PSC code: 6140 STATEMENT OF WORK: BACKGROUND: Existing batteries have reached end of life and must be replaced. Contractor shall provide new replacement batteries. The batteries are to be sealed, non-spillable 12V Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries specifically designed for Photovoltaic applications. The batteries shall be delivered in crates to the address specified below. The old batteries will be returned to the vendor in crates for disposal. WORK DESCRIPTION: Batteries, crating, shipping and battery disposal.PRODUCTS: The contractor will provide the following services and products: 1) 120 each, 12V, Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Photovoltaic Batteries (see specifications below). 2) Crating services for batteries. Each crate will contain 10 batteries, and will be capable of being stacked, suspended, and transported externally via helicopter. (see below crating specifications). Contractor will provide three (5) additional empty crates for purposes of battery disposal. 3) Shipping to and from Galena Alaska. The delivery address is: Koyukuk/Nowitna National Wildlife Refuge101 Front StreetGalena, Alaska 99741-0287Phone Number-(907) 656-1231 4) Certified disposal of 150ea used photovoltaic batteries. The Government shall crate up the used batteries and deliver to the point of delivery in Galena, Alaska. The Government shall contact the Contractor to arrange shipping from Galena Alaska to the approved disposal facility and produce disposal paperwork upon completion of work prior to submitting the final invoice for payment. Battery Specifications:Requested battery type shall be GNB Sunlyte 12-5000X or equivalent. -Must be specifically design to operate in a photovoltaic system and capable of handling the low current and low voltage charge produced from solar panels.-Dimensions must be 12.07"L X 6.87"W X 8.69"H to fit in specialized transport cases-Terminals must be top mounted utilizing 8mm screw posts-Must have integrated or removable carrying handle for transportation-Must be 12V nominal with 100AH @ 100 hour rate-Must be deep cycle capable-Must be sealed, spill and leak proof.-Must be capable of horizontal or vertical operation-Must have a low self-discharge rate of less than 1% a week-Battery must be freeze tolerant-Battery must have a minimized need for equalization Crating Batteries Requirement: -Must be capable of securing up to 10 batteries with a form factor of 12.07"L X 6.87"W X 8.69"H.
