- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for DOCKSIDE Repairs to the USCGC THUNDER BAY (WTGB 100). The acquisition will be solicited as a Service-disable Veteran-owned Small Business. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about May 9, 2011. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS: THE VESSEL’S HOMEPIER – 54 TILLSON AVE, ROCKLAND, ME. Anticipated start date is on or about 29 AUGUST 2011; PERFORMANCE PERIOD - 36 DAYS. The scope of the acquisition is to: (1) Chain Locker, Clean and Inspect, (2) Vent Ducts (ALL OTHER) Commercial Cleaning, (3) Anchor Windlass (GEN) Level 2, Inspect and Repair, (4) Vertical Capstan, Level 2, Inspect and Repair, (5) Sewage Piping, Clean and Flush, (6) Deck Fittings, Inspect, (7) Chain Locker, Preserve Partial, (8) Vent Duct Repair, (9) Bilge (Machinery Space) Preserve, (10) Fuel Manifold, Overhaul, (11) Vent Ducts (Engine and Motor Room) (ALL), Commercial Clean, (12) Deck Covering (Wet), Seal, (13) Tanks (MP Fuel Service), Clean, (14) MDE, Raw Water Flex Piping, Renew, (15) Diesel Fuel Vent Piping, Renew, (16) Pipe Standoff Brackets, Preserve, (17) Weather Deck Drains, Repair, (18) AFT Steering Compartment, Insulation and Renew, (19) Mast (MAIN), Preserve-Partial, and (20) Travel and Per Diem. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures.
