Description
The Purpose of this amendment is to provide logistics to Industry Representatives interested in attending technical presentation of subject requirement. Amendment: As stated in our April 18, 2011, Request for Information announcement, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service will discuss the subject requirement with Industry representatives on May 9, 2011. The meeting will from 10:00 a.m. until noon (est). The location for the meeting is: USDA at Riverside APHIS Headquarters Oklahoma City Conference Center 4700 River Road Riverdale, MD 20737 Daily parking is available at the site for $5.00 per vehicle. The meeting location is approximately one mile from the College Park Metro Station. Taxicabs and Metro Buses (Route F6 - New Carrollton Station and R11 & R12 Deadwood Station) are available at the College Park Metro Station. We are asking you to register to attend this meeting. Please send your registration request to: PPQ.ITMA.RFI.Responses@aphis.usda.gov with the company's name and name(s) of attendees. Registrants will need a photo identification card to gain entrance into the building. Because space is limited, please limit you attendee(s) to three per company. The deadline for meeting registration is noon, May 6, 2011. NOTE: 1. ONLY REGISTERED INDIVIDUALS WILL BE GIVEN ACCES TO THE BUILDING. 2. INDIVIDUALS WHOM DO NOT HAVE APPROPRIATE PHOTO ID WILL NOT BE CLEARED BY SECURITY. 3. REGISTRATION MUST ONLY BE SUBMITTED TO THE E-MAIL LISTED ABOVE. United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) is seeking industry for professional insights to a potential Agency consideration for a consolidated Architectural solution. The Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) is a program within the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). PPQ safeguards agriculture and natural resources from the risks associated with the entry, establishment, or spread of animal and plant pests and noxious weeds to ensure an abundant, high-quality, and varied food supply. PPQ is part of the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). Created on April 2, 1972, APHIS is a science-based organization whose primary goal is protecting American agriculture. It is an integral part of the USDA efforts to provide the Nation with safe and affordable food. APHIS' mission is to provide leadership in ensuring the health and care of animals and plants, to improve agricultural productivity and competitiveness, and to contribute to the national economy and the public health. This requirement is determined to be classified under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 541511 "Custom Computer Programming Services". All vendors are encouraged to respond. Attached, is the document which outlines the background and instructions for responding. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) therefore, proposals will not be accepted. No contracts will result from any submission. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. The Government will NOT award a contract based on the information received, nor reimburse participants for information they provide. Information requested is strictly voluntary. Responses must be submitted in accordance with Section 2.1 and 2.2, of the attachment. The instructions designate an e-mail for responding to this announcement. No telephone communication will be honored. Vendors who respond will not be entitled to the results of this notice. This SS is intended for planning purposes only.
