Description
THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED BY THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION DECISIONS. A SUBSEQUENT SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT MAY FOLLOW. RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE TO ANY FUTURE ANNOUNCEMENT. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) located in Dayton, OH seeks a Provider/Offeror to assist with the provision of residential placement and supportive services through the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program. This program is designed to serve homeless Veterans in need of immediate placement in a safe environment. Many of these veterans have co-morbid conditions that include serious mental illnesses, substance abuse disorders, and other serious medical conditions. The Dayton VAMC intends to engage a Provider/Offeror to provide rapid placement in a supportive, residential setting to Veterans Affairs (VA) referred Veterans. The primary goal is to develop alternative housing for the Veterans and to prepare them for independent living. It is the ultimate goal that these Veterans will eventually find their way to housing located within the community. Entities that are interested in providing Veterans these services should be aware that although this contract seeks services for the area of Dayton, OH, HCHV is a national program serving Veterans throughout the country. This program continues to expand and has become one of the largest VA interventions to assist homeless Veterans. It is also the first specialized VA specialized homeless program developed by the VA. It represents one of VA's most significant efforts to achieve the President's goal of ending homelessness among Veterans. Through this announcement, the VA seeks to support Veterans served by HCHV by expediting placement of these Veterans into safe, supportive housing. This housing must meet the criteria established both by HCHV clinical staff and VA fire and safety officials in addition to the local city, county and state regulations. Those wishing to identify their capability to provide the afore-mentioned service should respond to this announcement via email to alexander.daniel@va.gov no later than May 10, 2011 4:00p.m. eastern standard time. Interested parties should provide the following: Company Name, Company Address, Point of Contact, POC phone number/email address, DUNS number and capability statement for the services as stated above. THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION, OR "SOURCES SOUGHT," SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS OR OFFERS. INFORMATION IS TO BE PROVIDED ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS. NO ENTITLEMENT TO PAYMENT OF DIRECT OR INDIRECT COSTS OR CHARGES INCLUDING POSTAGE AND SHIPPING WILL ARISE AS A RESULT OF THE SUBMISSION OF INFORMATION.
