Description
This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-27. This is an Unrestricted Competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 325413. This requirement will be for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract (IDIQ). The Period of Performance for this contract will be a base year with four options years. DESCRIPTION: The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a requirement for the following: The following consumables are required to maintain proper functioning of the GS Junior System currently installed at the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory. 1.Control bead kit Must work as a positive control during a sequencing run on a 454 GS Junior instrument Must verify that the GS Junior System is performing to manufacturer specifications 2.Rapid Library Preparation Kit Must contain reagents required to process a single DNA sample into a DNA library of single-stranded DNA fragments compatible with subsequent emulsion amplification (using one of the GS FLX Titanium series emPCR kits) and sequencing on a GS Junior System Must contain all reagents and components required for 12 individual Rapid library preparations. 3.emPCR Kit (Lib-L) Must contain reagents and vacuum components sufficient for emulsion-based clonal amplification of a DNA library prepared using an appropriate GS Junior Titanium series library preparation procedure (e.g., shotgun, Paired End, cDNA) Must be compatible with subsequent sequencing on a GS Junior System, using the GS Junior Titanium Sequencing and PicoTiterPlate Kits. 4.Titanium Sequencing Kit Must contain reagents and supplies required to determine the nucleotide sequence of a PicoTiter Plate-immobilized and clonally amplified DNA library prepared using the GS Junior System methods Must be compatible with the 454 GS Junior Titanium PicoTiterPlate Kit and GS Junior System. 5.Picotiter plate kit Must be compatible with the 454 GS Junior System Must contain accessories sufficient for one sequencing run on a GS Junior System. 6.Rapid Library MID Adaptors Kit Must be compatible with the preparation of multiplexed/indexed DNA libraries for sequencing on the GS Junior System Must contain twelve 454 adaptors (numbered GS1-GS12) that can be substituted for the adaptors of the GS Rapid Library Preparation Kit. 7.Sipper Maintenance kit Must contain ten sipper tubes and filters for required monthly maintenance of the GS Junior System. 8.Maintenance wash kit Must contain reagents and supplies required for monthly maintenance wash runs of the GS Junior System. This award is for the consumable kits on an as-needed basis. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments and all questions and answers relating to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ or https://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about, May 2, 2011 and will only be available until June 2, 2011. Specifications of the requirement are provided in solicitation: W81XWH-11-T-0255 Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. To be eligible for an award, offerors MUST be registered with the Central Contractor Registry at https://ccr.gov/ and may have completed its representations and certification found at https://orca.bpn.gov/. All questions should be addressed in writing to Colleen Barnes, Contract Specialist at colleen.barnes@us.army.mil. Questions shall be submitted not later than 1200 hours (Eastern Day Light Savings Time) on May 20, 2011. Only one set of questions shall be received from each offeror. Numerous emails from one offeror shall not be accepted. Telephone requests will not be honored and bidder lists will not be maintained. All interested parties shall provide their quote to Colleen Barnes at colleen.barnes@us.army.mil by 10:00 p.m. ET on June 2, 2011.
