Description
Q4: I want to clarify that NOAA is supplying all components for the assemblies except for the bare boards, correct? Also, can we request an extension on the closing date? We do not manufacture bare boards, only populate so I will have to send out these files to our fab houses for a quote. Answer: NDBC will be supplying all the components to populate the printed circuit boards. Some components such as the compass and potentially the GPS module will be installed on the PCB by NDBC at our own facility on an as needed basis per the required board stack configuration. However, these parts are listed in the bill of materials that was provided in the event there are any issues on the printed circuit board production. Q5: What type of delivery schedule are you interested in? And are we to assume that the parts to be supplied are production ready for automated processes? So tape and reeled components? Answer: As far as delivery dates whatever is reasonable. The one slight hiccup maybe how long we get to identify any fabrication issues. The engineer can not test the boards individually, they must be tested in stacks. For example if you deliver all the analog board first I have now way to identify if something is not working correctly without the controller board, the stacker boards, power boards and the controller board. So, if we break up the delivery we need to specify that complete stacks be delivered. We are not opposed to staggering the delivery of the stacks. In fact that would allow us time to test and verify their operation in the warranty period.
