Description

This is a special notice to inform the public about the Department of Veterans Affairs OSDBU Small Business Vendor Counseling Session. This is not a solicitation. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the United States Government. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) provides a Vendor Day Counseling Session each month, except the month of December, for small businesses interested in doing business with VA. The sessions are free but registration is required. The sessions provide information on doing business with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). VA Program Managers will provide an overview of their requirements and contracting opportunities within their area of responsibility. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with the OSDBU staff, procurement personnel from throughout the VA and other small businesses in attendance. Vendors are encouraged to bring business cards and capability statements. Dates: May 18, June 15, July 20, August 17, September 21, October 19, November 16, (2011) Time: 9:00 AM Location: 801 I St., N.W. Washington, DC 20001, Room 1208 Cost: None Objective of the Event: The objective of the Vendor Day Counseling Session is to inform small businesses on how to do business with the Department of Veterans Affairs; provide small businesses resources to market their business to different areas in the VA; provide organizational structure, mission, and touch on areas that effects procurement opportunities. How to Register: If you would like to attend the Vendor Day Counseling Session, please register at www.va.gov/osdbu/services/confreg.asp. If you would prefer registering by phone, please call Cecilla Shorts, Marlene Vega or Cassandra Johnson at (202) 461-4300 or (800) 949-8387. Vendor counseling sessions are held on the third Wednesday of each month at our offices at 801 I St., N.W., Washington, DC, 20001, Room 1208. The nearest Metro subway station is Gallery Place/Chinatown. We are approximately a two block walk from the station exits. Because of security considerations in our building, you MUST register in order to attend. Registration is required as a result of building security requirements. All registration information is kept within our office and is used to prepare information for the counseling sessions and for building security only. Sessions begins promptly at 9:00 am.
