- Description
- Please note the following questions and answers: Q.Are there any pictures of the area available; also, any information or drawings of the sign, sizes, material, etc.? A.There are no drawings or information on the sign itself, other than observation. It appears to be a metal housing with plastic face. The housing appears to be securely fastened to the building. The plastic has deteriorated and is broken. It is becoming a hazard during high wind conditions. Q.If this is the sign on the south side on the building bump out area over the garage, it looks like access to roof would have to be either out some windows on the top floor or from the upper roof, and down a temporary ladder. Is that correct? A.There is access to the roof of the 11th floor, then down to the roof of the 10th floor via a permanent ladder. Q.The temp electric would be for contractor's use on our equipment, is that correct? A.The temp electric is for the contractor's equipment Q.Is the sign de-energized and disconnected from panels or will we need to do it? A.The sign is de-energized Q.Can the rigging and or ferrying of equipment to roof or other areas be done at other times besides Sat or Sun, (maybe nights?) or other times if it can be unobtrusive to public; can we leave rigging/staging installed during week?? A.The reason for the Saturday & Sunday work is to be able to block off the parking lot and smoking shelter, which is directly below the sign. All set-ups and/ or rigging can be done ahead of the actual dismantling of the sign. Shuttling of equipment should be done during the evening or night hours. Q.Will we be disposing of sign? A.Vendor will be responsible for removing the sign in its entirety from VA Property This is a service, not construction A site visit will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 21, 2011. If you are interested in attending, please send an email to the contracting officer (no later than 8:00 AM on April 21, 2011) for directions.
