- The purpose of this amendment is to replace the 2nd paragraph with the following: The Government has a need that requires a services contract to provide engineering, explosive bonding and quality assessment services in support of engineering and technology development of a means of large caliber cannon bore surface erosion protection through the use of thick-walled refractory metal liners. The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. The Contractor shall bond a partial length refractory material liner to the bore of a 105mm cannon tube with a high quality metallic bond. The Contractor shall also bond 144 long liners to two (2) 105mm steel cylinders with a high quality metallic bond along the entire length. All the other terms and conditions remain the same.
