- C-Architect-Engineering Services. Sources Sought Notice; Richard V. Pasbrig, Contracting Officer - (708) 202-4141. Provide Professional Architectural/Engineering design services to Renovate the C' Section of Building 200 for Nuclear Medicine & Radiology at the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois. This contracted work includes preparation of drawings, specifications and cost estimates for all facets of work and trades necessary to facilitate award of a construction contract in order to renovate approximately 20,000 square feet in the 'C' Section of the first floor of Building 200 for the Nuclear Medicine & Radiology. Construction period services and site visits during construction are part of the scope. Approximately 6,000 square feet will be renovated completely and the rest of the area will be remodeled. The work involved is removal and replacement of walls, doors, flooring, ceiling tiles, plumbing work, electrical work, signage, fire protection and HVAC work. The renovation also includes the closure and complete renovation of the 1200 square foot main east-west corridor. That space will be included into the Radiology renovation. A new 12-foot wide connecting corridor will be designed from the Southern lobby of Building 200 west into Building 1. This corridor will match architecturally with the lobby and new Building 200 façade. Abatement of asbestos and lead-based paint is part of this project. Estimated price range for this contract is between $250,000 and $500,000. Area of consideration is restricted to a 100 mile radius of the Hines VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois. Submit two (2) copies of SF 330 with appropriate documentation by the close of business, Thursday, May 19, 2011. Selection Criteria will be based on: (1) Specialized experience and technical competence of the firm (including a joint venture or association) with the type of design required; (2) Specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to the project; (3) Professional capacity of the firm in the designated geographic area of the project to perform work; (4) Past record of performance on contracts with the Department of Veterans Affair; (5) Geographic location and facilities of the working office; and(6) Certification as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). No bid packages are available. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). NAICS #541310 applies. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
