- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for onsite X-ray Radiology Services for the GSFCRadiation Safety Office. The specifications and drawings are linked above or may beaccessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=.The requirement is as follows:The contractor shall provide the equipment necessary to safely perform x-ray shots onstainless steel tube or titanium orbital tube welds of diameters 0.25 - 1.00 andthicknesses 0.015 0.050. The welds will often part of a propulsion system assembly,and may require shots with the x-ray source elevated or lowered to the floor. Thecontractor shall follow safe radiography practices. The contractor shall develop thefilm and inspect the welds per requirements in 597-WI-8072.1.1 (Propulsion SystemTitanium Line Welding) and 597-WI-8072.1.2 (Propulsion System 304L Stainless Steel LineWelding). The contractor shall comply with any all GSFC radiation safety requirements. The vendor shall provide this x-ray service on an as-needed basis, and shall be ready toperform x-rays primarily during second and third shift hours including weekends. GSFCshall notify the contractor 48 hours before x-rays are needed.The contractor shallinform GSFC of the x-ray results (PASS/FAIL information) within 24 hours of the ex-raybeing taken.Selection and award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quoter. Technical acceptability will be determined from information submitted by the quoter whichmust provide sufficient details to show that the product quoted meets the Government'srequirements.This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation,which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and awritten solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQsystem to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may beaccessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin=. Theinformation required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing toOdessia.H.Becks@nasa.gov no later than 4/16/2011. It is the quoters responsibility tomonitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will beresponsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments(if any). An ombudsman has been appointed - See NASA Specific Note 'B'.
