Description
POC: Bonnie J. Kirmse, 206.764.3811, Email: bonnie.j.kirmse@usace.army.mil. This is an advance notice announcing the intent of the Seattle District US Army Corps of Engineers that it has a competitive requirement for the replacement of Exciters at the Chief Joseph Dam located at Bridgeport, Washington. The scope of work for this contract consists of the Contractor furnishing all supervision, engineering, labor, materials, and equipment to perform the following work in strict accordance with the detailed requirements of the contract: a. Design, prepare drawings and data, manufacture, shop test, prepare and load for shipment, and deliver f.o.b. destination eleven complete digital static excitation systems for the Chief Joseph powerhouse. b. Remove the existing excitation systems. c. Install, commission, test, and make ready for commercial operation these eleven excitation systems at Chief Joseph, including furnishing and installing wire, cable, bus, conduit, meters, switches, and all other required appurtenances. d. Conduct equipment model validation tests and prepare test report suitable for use by WECC. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code has been replaced by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code. The NAICS code for this project is 335312, which is matched to FSC Code 6150. The evaluation method will be Lowest Price/Technically Acceptable (LPTA) procurement conducted in accordance with procedures outlined in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available to download on or about 15 April 2011 at: http://fbp.gov. NO CD's OR HARD COPIES WILL BE AVAILABLE. Offerors are responsible for checking the referenced page for any update(s) to the notice. The Government is not responsible for any loss of Internet connectivity or for an offeror's inability to access the document posted at the referenced website. For the purposes of this procurement, a concern is considered a small business if it has an employee base of 1000 or lower. Large Businesses are required to submit a small business subcontracting plan at time of proposal submission. One Firm-Fixed Price contract is anticipated to be awarded as a result of this solicitation and will be evaluated as Lowest Price/Technically Acceptable (LPTA). The contract will include a base year and two option periods. To be eligible for contract award a firm must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), the solicitation will be available for download no earlier than 15 days following the posting of this synopsis. Pursuant to FAR, the response date of the solicitation is no earlier than 30 days from the date of the solicitation release date.
