- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Intramural Research Program (IRP) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with FISHER SCIENTIFIC COMPANY L.L.C., 2000 PARK LANE DR PITTSBURGH PA 15275. The National Institutes on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Division of Intramural Research in Baltimore, Maryland requires The Ultralow freezer is need for the OTTC facility to house and store viral aliquots as well as reagents used for viral production. The incubators are needed to grow cells used in viral packaging and purification. Both are able to be used with our in house alarm system through Siemens. The selected FORMA freezer is compatible with our current racking system for biological specimens and the selected model has the capacity to house these specimens. The freezer can be integrated into the existing house alarm system (through Siemans). No substitutions should be made. The selected incubators will be used for producing viral vectors. They have been selected based on internal capacity, humidity control and monitoring, sterilization cycle, and integration into the existing house alarm system (through Siemans). No substitutions should be made.Thermo-Fisher is the primary company that makes and distributes these items. No other vendors sell the Heracell incubators. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition FAR 13 and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
