- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for support for work involving risk reductionactivities for the components used in a low-noise oscillator design. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from LGS Innovations, LLC pursuant to FAR 13.106,for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available fromonly one source. The vendor shall perform a reliability assessment of degradation curves for aged laserchips. The vendor shall recommend conditions and methods for degradation curves of another setof 20 chips. This will be followed by an assessment of the chip reliability at normaluse conditions. The vendor shall perform testing of Planex Laser modules by vacuum temperature cycling,and provide reliability assessment based on the results including recommended design andchanges. This work will be used for space qualification of the laser modules.It is essential that work is completed in a 3 month time period. The vendor must havesignificant experience with space qualification of lasers and laser technologies.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 2:30PM EST on datelisted above. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
