Description
The 249th Engineer Battalion is a versatile power generation battalion assigned to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that provides commercial-level power to military units and federal relief organizations during full-spectrum operations. The purpose of this solicitation is to secure instructional services for Army personnel of the 249th Engineering Battalion. These services will support students at Schofield Barracks, HI, Fort Belvoir, VA, and Ft Bragg, NC. The services required by this contract consist of instructor services to maintain technical proficiency in identification of electrical hazards, electrical safety deficiencies, and performance of electrical industry inspection and maintenance methods for low and medium voltage circuits, systems, and power plants. These critical skills are required to prevent injuries or fatalities, avoid damaged equipment, maintain equipment at a functioning level, and comply with all of the latest Occupational Safety and Health Administrations (OSHA), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Electrical Code (NEC), and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards and requirements as they continue to evolve. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) intends to negotiate a contract on a competitive basis for Outsourcing the Academic Phase of Training for the United States Army Prime Power School. This is to be performed in accordance with the Uniform Guidelines for Selection. The contract will be a single Indefinite Delivery Contract for a period of one (1) year with two (2) one year options. Anticipated release date of the RFP will be on or about 7 April 2011. A proposal will be due 20 days from the release date unless an amendment is issued to extend. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered by this agency. It is the Offeror's responsibility to watch FedBizOpps for the solicitation (W912HQ-11-T-0015).
