Description
Request for Information (RFI) for sources who can provide support upgrading the current Aperture 9 software system: The U.S. Geological Survey has a Request for Information (RFI) seeking sources who can provide support upgrading the current Aperture 9 software system in accordance with specifications below. This is not an announcement of a Solicitation. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is currently seeking sources to support upgrading the current Aperture 9 software system. The Aperture 9 software system is a visual layer space management software database. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-3, Request for Information for Solicitation and Planning Purposes (October 1997), this notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). The Department of the Interior (DOI) USGS intends to assess the responses to inform its decision-making. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the government to contract for services. The government will not pay for any information provided as a result of this notice and will not recognize or reimburse any cost associated with RFI submission. Responses to this RFI will not affect a potential offeror's ability to respond to any RFP that might follow. Please ensure that any sensitive or protected information is marked as such and the government will ensure this information is not released externally. Due to the restructure of the USGS an outside source is needed to perform the following: 1. Crosswalk subrooms from old organization codes to new codes2. Update where clauses on reports to the new org. codes3. Knowledge of how lotus notes operates and update the Aperture 9 software system 4. Update stylizers (color code drawings by cost centers)5. Update naming tables to reflect new organization titles6. Update hard wall changes and room numbers in the building in Aperture system7. Train staff on operations of the system8. Update all layers in Aperture system 9. Update Shelter in-place, fire extinguisher locations, evacuation layers10. Over all update of the Aperture system is needed to bring all information to current status11. Run reports for annual space snapshot and verify reports with Program POC once reports are returned. Update old organization codes with new organization codes (do to restructure of the USGS) using crosswalk information. The new organization codes are 10 digit alpha-numeric and the old org. code was a six digit numeric system. Interested parties who believe they have the capabilities to provide the required actions as defined are invited to submit a Capability Statement, not to exceed 10 pages. Response should include the following information: company name, address, point of contact, email address, business type and approximate cost information (i.e. rough order of magnitude). Additionally, any systems requirements for the application (i.e. type of server needed, operating system and version, database and version, web server and versions, etc.) should be included. Any training requirements (i.e. can users be trained via WebEx sessions or is hands-on required, train-the-trainers, etc.) should also be included. Past Performance information should be submitted for applicable references with projects conducted within the last three (3) years. Demonstrations of the software may be requested as part of the market research. Complete contact information for the reference to include contact name/telephone/email, business name, software provided, years software was used, and brief description of the software that was provided. To notify the Government of sensitive information, data identified as Proprietary (e.g., 41 USC section 423, the Procurement Integrity Act restrictive legend per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-1) contained in a response to this RFI, offerors shall mark the cover page of the response and each affected page of the response with indications that it contains proprietary information. The Government assumes no liability for the disclosure or use of information contained in a response if it is not marked proprietary. Please submit all responses to this notice by 11:00 AM EDT, Friday, March 25, 2011 via email to the Contract Specialist, jenglehart@usgs.gov. Reference 11HQ03-NOSOLICITATION in your email response subject line. Responses received after this date will not be evaluated. No feedback or evaluations will be provided regarding the information provided.
