Description
Picture of Existing Frame Picture of Existing Frame Picture of Existing Frame Picture of Existing Frame The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions posed by interested vendors and clarify the requirement. Quote submission has been extended to 14 March 2011, 12:00 pm Alaskan Daylight Time. 1. Do you have a picture of the board you need? Answer: Yes, pictures of the frame have been attached to this solicitation. 2. The specifications given for the LED board references "Proline 100 Software", which is used for boards manufactured by Fair-Play/Translux. Are you limiting the solicitation to just this one manufacturer or will you accept alternate manufacturers providing they meet the other specifications? Answer: Alternate manufacturers are acceptable. 3. The pixel matrix is listed as 432x 64 which I assume should read 32x64? Answer: Yes, it should read 32x64. 4. I wanted to know if an equivalent was acceptable. Answer: Yes, equivalent items are acceptable. 5. Can you use ethernet instead of a phone modem? Answer: No, a modem hook up is at the existing frame. 6. Is the sign in the bid an outdoor sign? Answer: Yes. 7. Will the bid be awarded as all or nothing? Answer: Yes. 8. Will the bid be awarded to only 1 company for both installation and supplying the sign? Answer: Yes, only one company will be awarded a contract for the removal of the existing LED board and installation of a new LED Board. 9. Can we just bid on the sign and not the install portion of the work? Answer: No, a quote for just the sign will be considered non-responsive. 10. How is the sign installed? On a monument? On a pole? Etc. Answer: The LED Board is on an existing rectangular wooden frame outdoors. 11. Is electrical and communication cable currently at the sign site? Answer: Yes. 12. The specifications state: 432 x 64 pixel matrix with a 35 mm pitch. However, given these specifications, there is a discrepancy, the dimensions of the sign would be 88.1" H x 595.2" W, however, the Cabinet Dimensions specified is 51" H x 92" W. Can you please clarify these specifications? Answer: 432x64 is a typo; the correct pixel matrix is 32x64. 13. What is the maximum area that is available to fit the LED Sign? Answer: The existing inside dimensions are 4'3"(H), 7'8" (W) and 8" in depth. 14. Will you be considering alternate pixel sizes? Answer: Yes. For clarification: This purchase is for brand name or equal products. The LED Board is to be placed inside an existing wooden rectangular frame located outdoors by an intersection. The maximum space inside the frame is 4'3"(H), 7'8" (W) and 8" in depth. This space is for one double-sided LED Board; there is no divider on the frame between the existing boards. The pixel size can vary according to the manufacturer, as long as characters on the Board can be readable from passing vehicles. The software that is installed with the board must be PC-compatible, Apple software cannot be accepted. For weather considerations; installation shall take place No Later Than 31 May 2011 with coordination by the end user. Any further questions can be emailed to SrA Bethany Carlan at bethany.carlan@elmendorf.af.mil
